Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that the sale of Patanjali's coronil drug will not be allowed in Maharashtra without proper certification from the World Health Organization and IMA. Recently, Anil Deshmukh has tweeted. In this tweet, he wrote, 'The response of the State Home Minister has come at a time when the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded clarification from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on coronil tablets'. Anil Deshmukh has also tweeted another. In this tweet, he said, "The IMA has raised questions on the so-called test of coronil and WHO has refused to approve any form of treatment for Covid with Patanjali Ayurved. So providing any medicine in a hurry and appreciation by two senior Union ministers is not appropriate. "

The Patanjali's coronil tablet received certification from the World Health Organization, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) said it was a lie on Monday. Thereafter a clarification was sought from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. Patanjali's claim that coronil drug can cure Covid-19 has been confirmed on the basis of evidence. The WHO has made it clear that it has not certified any traditional medicine as a treatment for Covid-19.

On 19 February, Patanjali Ayurveda of Yog Guru Ramdev said, 'under the WHO certification scheme, coronil tablets have received certification from the Ministry of AYUSH as an adjunct drug in the treatment of Covid-19'. Then Patanjali Managing Director Acharya Balakrishna later tweeted and said, "We want to make it clear that our WHO GMM compliant COPP certificate for Coronil was issued by DGCI, Government of India . It is clear that WHO does not approve any medicine. WHO works to create a better future for all in the world. "
