New Delhi: Political rhetoric has been seen since the Supreme Court order that brought the CBI probe. In this sequence, Aslam Sheikh, a minister in the Maharashtra government, has targeted the BJP. Recently Aslam Sheikh said, "CBI has become like a 'pan shop' in BJP government. The CBI goes anywhere and registers a case on anyone, especially in non-BJP ruled states."

In his statement, he said, "It (CBI) takes action against Chief Ministers and Ministers. We welcome the court order. After the decision of the court, the government will not do anything arbitrarily." The Supreme Court recently said, 'CBI needs to get the consent of that state before investigating any case'. This decision was given by the court after the withdrawal of the general consent by eight states. The Court states, 'these provisions are in line with the federal character of the Constitution. The powers and jurisdiction described under the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act require the CBI to require consent from the state government concerned before investigating any matter. '

During a court hearing, a bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and BR Gavai said, "Thus it can be seen that Section 5 allows the Central Government to expand the powers and jurisdiction of the members of DSPE beyond the Union Territories from the State. However, this is not acceptable unless a state concerned gives its consent to such an extension under section six of the DSPE Act. ”
