Mumbai: Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, has accused the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of making the film industry a scapegoat to save real drug smugglers. He said on Sunday that it is the duty of the NCB to track down and arrest drug smugglers, but no action is being taken against them but the NCB is protecting them.

Talking to the media, Nawab Malik said that NCB is arresting those who consume drugs. They are addicts who should be sent to rehabilitation centres, not jails. The duty of the NCB is to arrest the actual drug smugglers, but no action is being taken against them. Is NCB catching drug addicts and protecting drug smugglers.

Once again the case of drugs has been capped in the financial capital of the country, Mumbai. Comedian Bharti Singh was detained by the NCB on Saturday for taking cannabis while her husband Harsh Limbachiya was also arrested late at night. Earlier, NCB was questioned by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, his girlfriend.
