Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers celebrated Dahi Handi in the Dadar area despite the state government's ban on the Janmashtami festival last Monday. In fact, Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena workers ignored the corona guideline and broke the handi by constructing a pyramid in the Dadar area. On the other hand, Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena (MNS) workers also performed the Dahi Handi programme at Malabar Hill. At the same time, MNS activists also performed the Matki Phod programme in the Ghatkopar Bhatwari area of Mumbai.

All this was done by Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena (MNS) workers without permission and in view of this, Mumbai Police has started taking action against them. Police have registered an FIR against four MNS workers as per the information received. Police said the first FIR has been registered against 4 activists in the BDD move in Mumbai Worli. The police also said, "There is a possibility of FIR on the workers elsewhere where MNS celebrated Dahihandi festival.''

The FIR has been registered for violation of corona rules. Let me tell all of you that the coronavirus has not stopped so far and that is why this time also the government in Maharashtra had banned the Dahi Handi programme. In fact, the State Government had announced the prohibition of such a programme a day ago, but the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers did not accept the announcement.

In fact, apart from the BJP, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had already threatened to disobey government orders on Dahi Handi. Not long ago, MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar had said, "Why should the government ban the festival. We will all celebrate by ensuring covid guidelines. What kind of government is ruling Maharashtra which does not allow peaceful festivals?"
