Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Thane today i.e. In fact, the MET department has recently said that Mumbai may also receive heavy rain on Tuesday. It is also being said that rain activity will be witnessed in parts of Central Maharashtra Konkan due to cyclone 'Gulab.' Let me tell you that earlier the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for districts like Palghar, Raigad Thane. In fact, The IMD has predicted that heavy rain may occur in many parts of Maharashtra on September 28.

At the same time, let us also inform you that Mumbai has crossed the 3,000 mm rainfall mark this season. The monsoon season is still continuing in many parts of the country and several states are receiving incessant rain in the month of September. Though the monsoon period has come to an end, it has rained at many places even after that, while in some places there has been no rain at all. Mumbai is also among the many cities still receiving heavy rains.

Let me tell you that this year the rains have been uncertain which has also created a flood situation in some states. At present, The IMD has said in a statement, "Cyclone Gulab in the North-West Adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal will bring heavy rainfall at many places. Cyclone Gulab formed on Saturday evening and is likely to move westwards. Due to this, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds is likely to occur in Maharashtra. Rain activity will be observed in parts of Central Maharashtra Konkan on September 28. Therefore, citizens are requested to be careful.''
