Mumbai: Two brothers have been arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl on several occasions in the past month in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. Giving information on Tuesday, a police official said that 27-year-old Akash Sanjay Karemore had taken the girl to Gangapur Takkalghat village last month where she raped the girl.

While giving information about the case, the officials of MIDC Butibori police station have told that later the 21-year-old brother of the accused, Shubham Sanjay Karemore also reached the village where he also allegedly raped the minor. The police officer has said that the two accused had placed the girl at their maternal uncle's house in the village saying that the girl was an orphan.

According to media reports, on the complaint of the girl's family, the police started searching for her. The girl found them in Gangapur Takkalghat village. According to the police, the girl's parents have been divorced and her mother lives in Tenbhari village here and earns her wages. A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.
