Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole had recently said that he will contest the assembly elections alone. It seems that his statement is weighing heavily on him. In fact, according to recent information, Nana Patole, who is visiting North Maharashtra, has been immediately called to Delhi. In a statement today i.e. Friday morning, Nana Patole said, "Many senior BJP leaders are in touch with me and many new possibilities may come up soon. I am going to Delhi today and the post of Assembly Speaker will be discussed.''
Earlier, there was talk that Uddhav Thackeray and Ajit Pawar's chair was in danger after they expressed their displeasure. On the other hand, there are reports that Shiv Sena and NCP have expressed displeasure over Nana Patole's statement on contesting alone and termed it as a threat to the alliance. In fact, Maharashtra Congress in-charge HK Patil and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday made it clear that there is no threat to the Uddhav government at present. Similarly, if we talk about Nana Patole, he was on a pre-planned visit to North Maharashtra as part of the schedule, but after receiving a message from the High Command, he is now going to Delhi.
It is now being said that the yatra is not related to the reshuffle of the organisation but the role of the party in the monsoon session of the Assembly and the joining of some local BJP leaders in the Congress. Shiv Sena and NCP have directly hit out at Nana Patole ever since he announced that he will contest alone. According to some sources, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has called Nana Patole to Delhi. The meeting is said to be attended by Congress secretaries, state presidents and state in-charge. The meeting is also scheduled to discuss the functioning of the Mahavikas Aghadi Government. In addition, Nana Patole can also be asked for a response on the statement relating to contesting alone.
