Mumbai: Maharashtra Covid-19 Task Force member Dr. Shashank Joshi issued a statement last Monday saying, "A state-wide special zero survey is necessary to ascertain the presence of antibodies among the people." He further said, "A state-wide special sero survey is necessary to detect the presence of antibodies among the people as there are still a lot of cases of coronavirus infection in the state every day.''

At the same time, Dr. Joshi also said, "63,57,833 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Maharashtra till 9th August. Though new cases of coronavirus infection have declined with the weakening of the second wave of epidemics, these new cases are still coming to light." He also said, "The Maharashtra government has given a big concession by allowing people taking both doses of Covid-19 vaccine to travel in suburban trains in Mumbai from August 15 and if the cases of coronavirus infection continue to decline, the restrictions may be further relaxed from September 1.''

At the same time, he added, "The second wave is not completely over yet. It has become globally proven that the infection of coronavirus has spread very fast due to schools and religious ceremonies. The US reopened schools prematurely and now not only more cases are being reported there, but deaths are also taking place there.''

Last Monday, 4505 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Maharashtra, while 68 people have died. Meanwhile, 7,568 people have been freed from infection in the state. In fact, a health department official said, "After the new cases came to light, the number of infected people in the state has now increased to 63,57,833, while with the death of 68 people, the death toll has gone up to 1,34,064.''
