Mumbai: NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said last Wednesday that "farmers have been demonstrating for 7 months and now the issue should be resolved." At the same time, Sharad Pawar said, "Agricultural laws cannot be completely rejected, but amendments to parts of it on which farmers are averse are very important." He also appealed to the Modi government that the process of dialogue with farmers should be resumed once again. In fact, Sharad Pawar attended a private university function in Mumbai yesterday.
He said, "Instead MVA of rejecting the entire bill, we can demand an amendment to the part that the farmers object to." At the same time, he said, "The proposal will be brought on the table of the Assembly only after considering all aspects related to this law. After that, this law can be implemented in Maharashtra." Sharad Pawar also said, "Farmers have been demonstrating in different parts of the country for the last 7 months. There has been a deadlock between the farmers and the Centre. The Centre should take the initiative and interact with the farmers."
Sharad Pawar also said, "A group of ministers of the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) government is discussing the pros and cons of this law. It is very important for the States to consider the disputed aspects of the law before implementing it." At the same time, Sharad Pawar also said, "He does not think that the bill will come up for debate in the two-day session of Maharashtra." The farmers' protest against the three agricultural laws passed by the Centre has been going on in Delhi since November 26 last year. Farmers are demonstrating here at Ghazipur border, Singhu border.
