Solapur: In Maharashtra's Solapur district, a 37-year-old man first killed his wife and two children, then hanged himself and committed suicide. This incident was reported on Monday. The police have taken the bodies of all four members to the hospital for postmortem. Inspector Sanjay Salunkhe of Faujdar Chawadi Police Station said that the man who committed suicide has been identified as Amol Jagtap.

He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that Amol used to run a hotel and his hotel was closed due to lockdown. The young man bears a loan of several lakhs from the bank. Amol Jagtap used to live in a rented house near Old Pune-Nashik Naka with his wife Mayuri (27), son Aditya (7), and Ayush (4). Amol first strangled his wife and children to death. After this, he hanged himself and died. When his door did not open till late on Tuesday morning, the neighbours informed the police. On breaking the door, the bodies of four people were found from a room.

During the investigation, the police recovered a suicide note written by Amol, police are considering it as a case related to the financial crisis. After the post mortem report, other aspects of the murder would be revealed. Sources added, "Amol took a loan from other people, due to which he was under stress."
