Indian teacher Ranjit Singh Disley who has been making efforts for the better education has been awarded the 'Global Teacher Prize' for this work. Yes, he received a sum of 1 million dollars (7.38 crores) as a prize, but at the same time he announced that he would share half of it with the runners-up.

Let us tell you that the award to be announced to him was announced by actor Stephen Fry in an online ceremony. While accepting a media report, Ranjit is working as a teacher in a district council primary school in Paritwadi in Solapur district, Maharashtra. After winning this award, 32-year-old Dissley said, "In this difficult time, teachers are trying their best to ensure that every child gets the birthright of his education." He has always believed in giving and sharing and due to this, he also distributed half the amount of his prize money.

This he decided to divide equally among the teachers who secured a top-10 for the award. Let us tell you that out of the prize money that Ranjit got, about 40-40 thousand pounds i.e. around 39-39 lakh rupees to Jamie Frost of Britain including the runners-up from Italy, Brazil, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea, USA. will be given. However, the judges announcing the award had observed that Dissley had ensured that the girls could somehow come to school and not face the mischief of child marriage. Not only this, Ranjit also teaches science online in 83 countries.
