Wardha: Lockdown imposed across the country due to Coronavirus has affected the laborers who earn daily. Due to the closure of the work, the workers started walking towards their respective villages hundreds of kilometers away. Many had good luck who somehow reached their homes but some were also unfortunate who lost their lives during this time. The painful story of one such laborer has come out from Maharashtra.

A migrant worker in Wardha, Maharashtra, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself. Labor was coming home in Gondia district of the state after walking several hundred kilometers from Hyderabad in the neighboring state of Telangana amid the enforced nationwide bandh due to Coronavirus. Police gave this information on Saturday. An official said that the body of Amar Singh Madavi (45) has been found hanging from a tree in a field in Girard police station area.

These states requested workers not to go home

Assistant Inspector Mahendra Suryavanshi of Gilead Police Station said, 'Amar was a resident of Chhillari village of Dewari taluka of Gondia. He used to work in Hyderabad and was trying to reach his house on foot. He committed suicide by hanging himself with a skull.' He further said that the friend of the deceased told that he did not have any money left to eat, due to which he was very worried and he committed suicide.
