Vamsi Paidipally’s Maharshi, which stars Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and actress Pooja Hegde got a roaring start at the box office when it released on Thursday. The drama-thriller made Rs 6.38 crore (share) in Hyderabad alone on its opening day. According to the sources, Maharshi has successfully crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office worldwide. The film is still going steady at the box office and is expected to move into the profit zone in the coming week.
The Maharshi team had a success meet on Sunday, and Mahesh Babu dedicated the success of the film to all mothers on Mother's Day. According to In.com, Maharshi needs to get a worldwide share of about 100 crores to emerge profitable to all its stakeholders.
Apart from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Maharshi is also doing well in Chennai. Since the film doesn't have a strong competition in Tamil, except for Vishal's Ayogya, it is enjoying an uninterrupted theatrical run in the Tamil-speaking state.
