After the blockbuster film Bharat Ane Nenu in 2018, Mahesh Babu is gearing up for the release of Maharshi this year. The film has been in the making for quite some time and fans could only get a glimpse of Mahesh Babu's character in the film through the posters. As the film is gearing up for a worldwide release on May 9, the makers have dropped in the teaser of Maharshi, on the occasion of Ugadi (April 6). As expected the teaser went viral within a few minutes.

In the 1 minute 20 second teaser, Mahesh Babu looks dapper in two different looks. While he rocks a checkered suit in the US, his college-boy look is also a sure-shot winner. The teaser indicates that Maharshi is an action-drama with necessary social messages. Maharshi marks the first collaboration of Mahesh Babu and Vamshi. The director has earlier churned out hits like Brindavanam and Oopiri.

Maharshi also stars Pooja Hegde, who has become a much-sought-after actress in the Telugu. Maharshi follows the story of Rishi (Mahesh Babu) who comes back to his hometown after hearing the problems faced by farmers. In the teaser, Mahesh Babu says, "There are no full stops in success, only commas. I have a problem, sir. If somebody says that I will lose, I would want to prove them wrong." The film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Sai Kumar and Jayasudha in important roles. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the film. Maharshi might hit the screens on May 9.
