New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind delivered the message to the nation on the eve of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In this message, he said, "the people of India have remembered the Father of the Nation by adopting the Swachh Bharat Mission as a movement. Our nation emphasizes overall development, transparency and honesty in public life. Supporting the livelihood of the poor and farmers and keeping in mind their views makes effective use of water resources". President Kovind said that "the 150th Gandhi Jayanti is a special occasion for all of us".

"There is an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to truth, non-violence, harmony, morality and simplicity. He said that truth, non-violence and Sarvodaya were prepared by Mahatma Gandhi to give the message of humanity. Please tell that today, along with Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri also has 116th birth anniversary, on this occasion the whole country is remembering him". PM Modi reached Rajghat in the morning and paid tribute to Bapu.
