Mahatma Gandhi's ideals the need for India: KCR

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR)  said that the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation,  who advocated that his religion is the wellbeing of all sections of people irrespective of caste and religion, are urgently needed in India.

The minister made this observation while remembering the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary on January 30 (Martyrs' Day).

The Chief Minister stated that Mahatma Gandhi, who gave his life to preserve national integrity and unity, will always be a guiding force for the country's prosperity.

\He said that everyone should take inspiration from Gandhi's life to reach the shores of victory by overcoming the hurdles encountered along the way. The Chief Minister stated unequivocally that we will carry out Gandhiji's wishes.

K T Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and a state minister, also paid tribute to the Mahatma. He said that on this day 75 years ago, terrorism appeared for the first time in independent India as Godse.

"On the 75th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's death, let us remember that the best homage we can give to Bapu is to practice his values of peace and communal harmony," he added.
