The 24th Tirthankar of Jainism, Lord Mahavira, was born on the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month in Trayodashi in 599 BC in the house of Siddhartha and Maharani Trishala of Lichchivi dynasty in Bihar. His birth is celebrated every year in the name of Mahavir Jayanti, which is on 6 April this year. The name of Lord Mahavir Ji's childhood was Vardhaman and after his birth, the state was progressing quadrupled day and night. He was named Vardhaman.
