Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi was born on 7 June 1974 in Chennai. His full name is Mahesh Srinivas Bhupathi. After his initial studies in Chennai, he further studied with the University of Mississippi in America, and the 21-year-old started a tennis career from there.

Mahesh Bhupathi paired with several players in his tennis career, but the most successful partner for him was Leander Paes. In 1999, he captured the French Open and Wimbledon. On 16th February 2011, Bhupathi married Lara Dutta in Bandra, Mumbai. The two then married with Christian customs at the Sunset Point of Goa.
