Mahindra has discontinued its oldest off-road car Bolero. Now only its Power Plus variants will be available for sale. It has been decided to discontinue the regular Bolero keeping in mind the less powerful engine and new safety norms. Let's know in full detail

The regular Bolero had a 2.5 liter diesel engine, which generated 63 PS of power and 195 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox was provided with the engine. It was priced between Rs 7.74 lakh and Rs 9.42 lakh. It was costlier than the new Bolero Power Plus. The Bolero Power Plus is priced between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 9.04 lakh. The Bolero Power Plus has the same cabin space as the regular Bolero. However, its bumper has been shortened, which has reduced its length by four meters. It has a 1.5 liter diesel engine, which also gives tax exemption on it. The regular Bolero lacked basic safety features such as ABS, airbags and seatbelt reminders. In Bolero Power Plus, the company has compensated for all these features.

Power Plus Mahindra Bolero features passenger airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensor, speed alert and front seatbelt reminder for passenger safety. It is speculated that in 2020 the company will launch a new Bolero with BS6 engine. Mahindra had announced some time ago that it will upgrade the H2DICR engine to BS6 standards by April 2020. In such a situation, it is being hoped that Mahindra's MHock D70 1.5 liter diesel engine will also be available in the Bolero Power Plus. This engine has the power to generate 71 PS of power and 195 Nm of torque.
