Mahindra University closed after 30 corona cases found, everyone had got vaccine

Hyderabad: Mahindra University in Telangana is in lockdown after 30 cases of corona virus infection came to an end. Of those found to be corona infected, 25 are students and five are members of teaching staff. Infected patients have been isolated and admitted to hospitals. However the symptoms in patients are not serious.

Mahindra University has been closed at present and all 1,700 students and other members have been instructed to stay in isolation at home. University officials said everyone had received both doses of the vaccine. The university has said that educational activities will be resumed only after the campus and hostel are fully monitored. The private university campus at Bahadurpalli near Hyderabad is sponsored by Mahindra Educational Institutions, a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra.

On the other hand, 99 more people were found infected with corona at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad in Karnataka on Friday, causing a stir across the campus. According to officials, most of those found corona positive are students. 116 people were found to be infected with corona from SDM College on Friday, after which the number of infected people increased to 182.
