Apart from corona, several shocking cases are being reported from the country and 1 reported killed while 6 people are missing when a boat capsized at Mangaluru port. Two persons have been rescued. In fact, on Friday, 9 persons were sent in a boat to carry out maintenance work at the Single Point Mooring facility, 17 kilometres from the port at New Mangaluru Port. However, 1 died on the spot while 6 others are missing when the boat capsized on Saturday.
According to reports, the accident occurred when all the members were returning to the port. Due to this, the boat got stuck in the sea and overturned. The body of one crew member was found near Kaup beach in Udupi district and two others were rescued. Police said, search operation is on to trace six persons. The damaged boat was found at Katipatna in Padubidri in Udupi district.
Earlier also, three fishermen were killed in an accident in Mangaluru. According to sources, the two fishermen killed were from Colachel in Tamil Nadu. While one fisherman was from West Bengal. The bodies were kept at District Wenlock Hospital. Two fishermen rescued by the Indian Coast Guard were admitted to a government hospital. Six fishermen from Tamil Nadu and three fishermen from West Bengal are still missing. There were 14 fishermen on board the fishing boat IFB Raba.
