A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the attack on forest officials in the forests. Senior advocate Shyam Dewan while filing the petition has said that 31 percent of incidents of attacks on forest officers have been observed in India every year. In states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, officers on duty are attacked with extreme vandalism. Amicus Cure ADN Rao and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta along with Advocate Shyam Dewan have also made their case before the court regarding this case.
It has been learned that SG Tushar Mehta said that along with the illegal trade of wildlife, as well as for the theft of wood, forest officers are attacked. Shyam Dewan said that a forest ranger is in such a situation during his duty, according to the information received, he cannot even call the policeman for help. There is no one to help them in the forest. He has also said that the Rajasthan government should file a stay report in the Supreme Court on the incident in MountAbu, and the Rajasthan government should take appropriate steps on such incidents.
At the same time, the CJI (Chief Justice of India) asked the petitioner that have you made all the state governments a party? And in continuation of this, the CJI said that Amicus Curiae, Solicitor General, all the state governments, and the parties should negotiate an arrangement, after which the consent should be presented before the court. At the same time, the Supreme Court has expressed concern about the incidents of attacks on forest officials. The court said that usually, forest officers are unarmed during their duty, they are brutally attacked by poachers all over the country.
