Make Your Google Search Bar Colorful: A Simple Trick

Often, simple things tend to be less appealing. As a result, we customize various features on our devices—wallpapers, shortcuts, themes, and whatnot. However, the Google search bar usually remains plain, either white or black (the latter if you're using a dark theme). But with the trick we’re about to share, you can transform your boring search bar into a colorful one. It’s easy and doesn’t require much effort.

How to Change the Color of Your Google Search Bar

To make your Google search bar colorful, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Search Bar: Type "Google" in the search bar and search for it.
  2. Access Settings: Click on your profile icon in the right corner and go to "Settings".
  3. Find the Search Widget Option: In the settings, you'll see an option called "Search Widget".
  4. Customize the Widget: Click on the "Search Widget" option, and then click on "Customize Widget".
  5. Change the Color: You'll see a paint icon. Click on it, and you will get options to change the color and adjust the saturation.
  6. Choose Your Color: Select the color you like. Once you set the color, click "Done". Your chosen color will now appear on your search bar.

Enhance Your Privacy on Google

Google tracks your searches and shows you related suggestions, which means it keeps a close watch on your activities. To maintain your privacy and manage what Google tracks, you need to adjust some settings on your phone.

  1. Open Settings: Go to your phone's settings.
  2. Find Google Settings: Scroll down and click on "Google".
  3. Manage Your Google Account: In the Google profile settings, select "Manage Your Google Account".
  4. Go to Data & Privacy: Navigate to the "Data & Privacy" section.
  5. Web & App Activity: Click on "Web & App Activity".
  6. Adjust Subsettings: On the next page, you'll find "Subsettings". Look for the option "Include Audio and Video activity".
  7. Disable Tracking: If this option is checked, uncheck it to stop Google from tracking your audio and video activity.

By following these steps, you can ensure that Google doesn’t track every single thing you do, thus enhancing your privacy.

These simple tricks not only help in personalizing your device but also in securing your online presence. Customizing the Google search bar adds a personal touch, making your device more pleasant to use. At the same time, adjusting privacy settings ensures that your data remains yours and isn’t tracked for personalized suggestions.
