Taylor Swift has had some success experimenting with acting and even has a movie coming out soon alongside Christian Bale, John David Washington, and Margot Robbie. However, the Twilight universe was the one franchise that the singer really wanted to be a part of. Swift, who is well-known for being a huge fan, reportedly wanted to have a part in New Moon.

Swift was keen to have a guest appearance in the film and was pushing for even the smallest of cameos, according to director Chris Weitz who helmed Twilight: New Moon. However, it eventually didn't work out because Weisz turned down the singer's request. The filmmaker explained his decision to reject Taylor's cameo while discussing the same on "The Twilight Effect" podcast with Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe.

Recalling, Chris said, "Taylor Swift was a huge Twi-hard, and Taylor Swift and I had the same agent at the time and he said, ‘Taylor would like to be in this movie – not because of you, but she’s a Twi-hard", via The Independent. The director further also mentioned how the Evermore singer was ready to play "even just “someone at the cafeteria, or the diner or whatever." 

The director then admitted that one of the reasons he rejected the singer was that he felt she had too strong of a personality and that, given her fame, she would detract from the other actors and the plot. The filmmaker said that he "kicked" himself since he missed the opportunity to work with and get to know Swift, but he insisted that at the time he was thinking about what was best for the movie.

It's interesting to note that Taylor later dated Taylor Lautner, the actor of the Twilight: New Moon movie, in the same year the movie came out. The couple also appeared together in the love story Valentine's Day.
