Making Indian Railways modern is Govt top priority, says PM Modi

New Delhi: The government's top objective, according is to make Indian railways modern, safe, and convenient, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used video conferencing to launch two new railway lines connecting Thane and Diva in Maharashtra. He also signalled the departure of two Mumbai Suburban Railway suburban trains.

The Prime Minister, speaking at the event, said, "Making railways modern, safe, and convenient is one of our government's key priorities. Even COVID was unable to persuade us to abandon our dedication to this cause. In the last two years, the railways have set new records in freight transportation."

PM Modi congratulated Mumbaikars on the opening of the newly constructed 5th and 6th rail lines between Thane and Diva, saying the new lines will make life easier for Mumbaikars and give energy to the city's lively existence. The project will reinforce Mumbai's potential and identity as the "City of Dreams," Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, referring to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Railway. He stated that the government's top objective is to complete the project quickly.
