These days, there are a lot of shocking reports coming out of the South film industry. There has been some major news recently. In truth, Malayalam lyricist Bichu Tirumala (Bichu Tirumala) has died, after the demise of South superstar Punit Rajkumar. According to sources, Bicchu, who was 80 years old at the time, was brought to a private hospital after suffering a heart attack and died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment. Since last Wednesday, he has been on ventilator support.

Let us also remind you that B. Shivakumaran Nair was his complete name. Bichu Tirumala began his career as a lyricist in 1972, penning songs for the film Bhaja Govindam. Though the film was a flop, his debut song, Brahma Muhurthil, was a hit. It was a huge success. Following this song, he collaborated with prominent musicians such as V Dakshinamurthy, MS Baburaj, K Raghavan, MS Viswanathan, Jerry Amaldev, Oseppachan, Ilaiyaraaja, and AR Rahman, and the results were outstanding. Simultaneously, he worked with ONV Kurup to create songs that are still recognised today. For the films Trishna and Thenam Vayabam, he received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist in 1981.

 

In 1991, he earned the same prize for the second time, this time for Rajsen's The Kadinjul Kalyanam. Bichu Tirumala also worked as a music director in certain Malayalam films, which few people are aware of. Let us add mention that in 1962, he authored and acted in the Inter-University Radio Drama Competition play Ballatha Duniyav.
