Kannur: The Indian Embassy has informed that the body of Albert August, a resident of Kannur Alakot, who was killed in Sudan, has been shifted to the hospital. The body was inside the flat where Albert was shot

It was reported that Albert, who was the chief of the safety division at Dal Firm in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, was shot futile at 4 pm on Saturday. Albert retired from the Indian Military and went to Sudan 6 months in the past. His spouse Sybella and daughter Marita went to Sudan the opposite day. They’re protected at house in Khartoum.

It was also reported that the ongoing conflict in the region caused a hindrance to shifting the body. The family sought the help of the Indian Embassy to shift the body to a safe place. The body was then transferred to the hospital in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

The Indian Embassy and Dal Food Company, where Albert worked, said that Albert’s wife and daughter have been shifted to a safe place and food has been provided. Both of them have been shifted to the basement of the flat where they lived. Embassy officials informed that food and water have been delivered here.

Albert’s father Augustine has written to the Central and State Governments requesting action to bring his son’s body home as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the conflict in Sudan is spreading to more places. The standoff between the army and the paramilitary has entered its third day. It is reported that 83 people have been killed so far.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said the family of Albert Augustine, who hailed from Kannur district of Kerala, will be provided all necessary help and that steps are on to bring his body back to the country.
