New Delhi:The Congress seems to be reeling under siege after a witness retracted his statement in the Malegaon blast case. RSS leader Indresh Kumar has asked the Congress to apologise for linking the saffron with terrorism. In fact, the witness had told the court that he was forced by the ATS to name four Sangh leaders, including the present UTTAR PRADESH CM Yogi Adityanath, in the 2008 case.

Indresh Kumar accused the then Joint Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, which was aligned with the Congress, of conspiring against the saffron. He said, "The Congress-led UPA conspired against the "saffron" and linked it to terrorism. Tried to abuse the agency to defame religious leaders and arrest people. But they failed miserably. He has said that UPA should apologise to Yogi Adityanath for hatching such a big conspiracy. The Sangh leader said saffron terrorism was part of the Congress' dirty politics. The Congress conspired to prove the theory of Hindu terrorism to be true, but it could not do so.

In the Malegaon bomb blast case in Maharashtra in 2008, a witness accused the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of harassing and pressurising some people to be trapped in the case. The witness told the Special NIA Court on Tuesday (December 28, 2021) that he was severely tortured by the ATS investigating the case. The witness had told the court that the ATS had forced him to name sangh leaders Indresh Kumar, Deodhar, Kakaji and Swami Aseemanand besides the then BJP MP Yogi Adityanath. However, this is not the first time that witnesses who made statements before ATS have reversed their statements. About 15 witnesses have changed their statements so far, including this new witness.
