New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge termed the economic package announced by the central government as a severe setback to bring back the economy of the country badly hit by the Corona epidemic and urged the government that farmers who could not repay loans to banks Instructions not to initiate the insolvency resolution process against

Kharge further said that the government should ensure that farmers are not caught in the clutches of local moneylenders as banks are hesitant to give them new loans. Kharge alleged that in the name of agrarian reform, the government is happily allowing private traders to come to the Agricultural Produce and Cattle Market Committees. He also said in a statement that in the name of agrarian reform, the government wants industrialists to sell and buy land of farmers. Kharge further said, "If the government can declare that the insolvency redressal process will not be started against the industries affected by the coronavirus, then it should instruct the banks to look at the loans of farmers in the same way."

Kharge said that the lockdown has been 60 days and every sector of the Indian economy is in serious trouble. He said that we need to plan region-wise. Kharge said, "But the steps announced by the government last week are clear that either it is not aware of the crisis or it has clearly refused to pay attention to it in order to revive the economy."
