LONDON: A London court is hearing the appeal of fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya today. If the court does not allow Mallya to stay in England in oral hearings, he can soon be extradited to India. Mallya has petitioned for some more stay in the UK instead of returning to India. The Indian investigating agency is making continuous efforts for the extradition of Mallya.

Mallya is currently present in the court for hearing. Mallya, appearing in the London-based Royal Court of Justice, told the press that he was positive about the hearing. Mallya's appeal is being heard at the London Royal Court of Justice. Mallya had filed a written application against extradition to India on February 14, which was rejected by the court on April 5.

Mallya then applied for oral hearing in the court. The court had scheduled a 4-hour slot from 10.30 a.m. local time (London) to hear Mallya's case. A bench of justices Ligate and Popliwell is hearing Mallya's plea.
