Air Deccan's chairman, G.R. Gopinath, believes that Vijay Mallya, the founder of Kingfisher Airlines, is not a political conspiracy but a victim of his snapping lifestyle and arrogance.

Simultaneously, he said that due to the prevailing rules Kingfisher Airlines was able to acquire his company. Gopinath sold Air Deccan to Kingfisher Airlines for Rs 1,000 crore in 2007, in those days, while the aviation sector was flooding.

Gopinath said, 'In my opinion, she (Mallya) is not a political conspiracy but a victim of excesses and arrogance.' It is to be noted that the Kingfisher Airlines, which has a debt burden, was closed in 2012. Banks have outstanding over Rs 9000 crores on the company. Mallya also escaped from India to London where a case of prostitution is going on against him.

Mallya, now known for his dazzling lifestyle, interest in Formula 1 and issuing annoying calendars every year, has now become an example of those who have not repaid debts. Gopinath said that the liquor businessman Mallya was not aware of his activities in the days of default.

At the same time, he called Mallya political football, who took loans from banks at the time while Congress-led NDA government was in power without naming any political party, Gopinath indicated that a party was upset with Mallya's permission to leave the country and the other party accused the first party of not taking appropriate action against Mallya.
