Gwalior: The extent to which malnutrition has become uncontrollable in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh is being cited by the figures revealed during the investigation as part of the Knock Knock Campaign. So far, 91,785 children have been screened under the Knock Campaign, out of which 76 children have been found to be malnourished under the Gwalior Urban NRC alone. Out of all 76 children, 51 children have been admitted to NRC for treatment so far. That's where 18 children are still waiting for their recruiting turn.

This is the case with the urban NRC of Gwalior. A similar situation has also emerged from three other NRC centres in Gwalior, Mohana Bhitarwar and Valleygaon. If this is the situation in the home district of the province's Minister for Women and Child Development, Imrati Devi, you can imagine what would be happening in the remaining districts. NRC in-charge Dr Monika Yadav has said that the biggest reason for most of the children who are coming to malnourished is the weakening of the mother. Children are also born weak where the mother is weak.

At the same time, the nutritional food that is given to them is provided through the anganwadis. She is not used to it, and children are not being breastfed, which has led to a steady increase in cases of malnutrition. It may be mentioned that the Madhya Pradesh government is conducting a knock-out drive from June 10 to July 20 to find out the disease among young children, screening of 178261 children in Gwalior district.
