Anuppur: The government's action against the land mafia in Madhya Pradesh continues unabated. Anuppur district administration removes illegal encroachments from Amarkantak, the origin of the Narmada river. The saints and sadhus had illegally built monasteries, temples and ashrams here. The value of the land released is being reported in crores. In Amarkantak and surrounding areas, sadhus and saints had encroached upon many places. The situation was such that only 2 rooms of ashrams were converted into 20 to 25 rooms. There were many ashrams whose scope was spread over one to two acres. The government has taken strict action on these ashrams.

In fact, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who came in an action mood in the last few days, had given instructions to remove them strictly. In this order, the administration is taking continuous action. In the recent action, about 2.5 acres of land in Amarkantak have been freed by the administration. The estimated value of this land is in crores.

In the wake of this action on Thursday, the administration has bulldozed the ashram of Anuppur Ramanandacharya Rajarajeshwar Mauli Sarkar. In the very ancient Kali temple complex of Amarkantak, 20 rooms were constructed in place of two rooms. A part of an encroachment near a place called Mai Ki Bagia has also been freed by the administration. Due to this action, there was a prompt arrangement of the police including all the top officials of the administration. Top officials of the district administration said that while this continuous action will speed up all the development works in the Amarkantak area, it will help in the promotion and conservation of Mother Narmada.
