Kolkata: Netaji's birth anniversary was celebrated in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in West Bengal. Slogans were raised against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, which provoked Mamata Banerjee and refused to speak in the programme. At the same time, he also said, "It is not correct to call someone in a government programme." In fact, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a speech at the Victoria Memorial on Netaji's birth anniversary. In the speech, she refused to address the slogans of Jai Sriram.

She said that she had been "insulted". When slogans were raised against Mamata Banerjee during the programme, she said, "If you invite somebody to a government programme, you should not insult him." According to reports, as soon as Mamata Banerjee arrived at the stage to deliver the speech, Jayshree Ram's slogans began. Mamata Banerjee got angry and refused to speak on the podium. On the one hand Jai Shree Ram was buzzing, on the other hand, Bharat Mata was hailed.

Seeing this, Mamata Banerjee said, "I think the governance programme should have any dignity. It is a government programme, it is not a party programme, it is an all-party and public programme. I am thankful to the Prime Minister, I am thankful to the cultural ministry that you have created a programme in Kolkata. But by inviting someone, inviting someone and insulting him, you don't have to befit. I will not speak here expressing opposition to it. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla.”
