Kolkata: The bodies of five laborers killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir reached their home in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal this morning. Along with the families of the deceased workers, several state ministers and TMC leaders were also present. Hundreds of people from remote areas reached Bahl Nagar village under the district to mourn and attend the funeral of the slain workers.

On Tuesday, five laborers were shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam district of Kashmir. Another worker who is from Murshidabad was also injured in the attack. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Srinagar. The killed workers were also accompanied by a seventh person who had come out to fetch food at the time of the attack. That person has not recovered from the shock of this accident. He was brought to Kolkata on Wednesday and admitted to SSKM Hospital.

State Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim had gone to Kolkata Airport on Wednesday night to take the dead body of the laborers. He fiercely attacked the BJP-led central government over the security situation in Kashmir. He said, "What was the purpose of repealing Article 370?" In reference to PM Modi's 56-inch chest speech, Hakim said, "If the central government cannot protect its citizens, then chest should be 56 inches and 72 inches, what difference does it make?"
