New Delhi: The film 'The Kerala Story', directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah, is being strongly opposed by a section. Meanwhile, 'The Kashmir Files' is also being targeted. For this reason Vivek Agnihotri, director of Kashmir Files, has sent a legal notice to West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee. Let us tell you that CM Mamta has also banned The Kerala Story.

Now, Vivek Agnihotri has informed about sending legal notice to Mamta on his Twitter handle on Tuesday (May 9). He tweeted and wrote, "I, along with Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi, have sent a legal notice to Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. They have made false and defamatory statements with an aim to defame us and our films 'The Kashmir Files' and upcoming film 'The Delhi Files'." Talking to the media, Vivek said, 'I was silent for a long time. Any CM, be it the CM of Delhi, or big journalists, leaders, used to stand up and say that 'The Kashmir Files' is a propaganda film. Now I felt that enough is enough. Whoever thinks that this is a propaganda film, should come and prove that which dialogue, which scene, which fact is false or propaganda in it.'

He further said, 'Yesterday (May 8, 2023), Bengal's CM Mamta accused 'The Kashmir Files' and my upcoming film, which is based on the genocide of Bengal. He said that BJP gives me money to make 'The Kashmir Files' or to make another film. This is hurting my mind, affecting my employment and completely false and baseless, which Mamta ji has said to please her vote bank under political agenda.'

Explaining why the legal notice was sent, Agnihotri said, 'I, my producer Abhishek Aggarwal ji, Pallavi Joshi ji have decided that we will take legal action against CM Mamta. So we have sent her a legal notice. She should answer that what is the fact and evidence of what she has said. Otherwise it is straight defamation. In my view, this is a statement made with an ulterior motive to affect the livelihood of a person. Let us inform that the film 'The Kashmir Files' directed by Vivek Agrihotri is based on the gruesome massacre of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990.
