Kolkata: A minor girl died after she was allegedly gang-raped at a birthday party at Hanskhali in West Bengal's Nadia district. The police gave information in this regard on Sunday (April 10, 2022). At the same time, the girl's family claimed that the main accused in this case is the son of a Panchayat member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). who has been arrested. At the same time, today CM Mamta Banerjee has raised questions about the family's claim of gang rape regarding this incident. Mamta said, 'How do you know whether she was raped, was she pregnant, or was it a matter of love affair or was she ill.' TMC supremo said that if the couple is in a relationship then how can we stop them, it is not UP that I can do this in the name of love jihad. CM Mamta has said that the Children's Commission will investigate rape and murder in this case.

The parents of a Class 9 student in Nadia, Bengal, had lodged a complaint against the accused at Hanskhali police station on Saturday (April 9), four days after the incident. According to the complaint, the girl had gone to the house of the accused on Monday (April 4) to attend his birthday party, but she returned home in an ill condition, our daughter was bleeding profusely and had a severe stomach ache, and before we could take her to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. In this case, the family claims that after talking about the sequence of events and those present at the party, they believe that the accused and his friends had gang-raped their daughter. At the same time, the family also alleged that a group of people forcibly cremated the minor's body before her death certificate was issued.

It may be recalled that a petition was filed in the Calcutta High Court on Monday, seeking a CBI probe into the case of gang rape and the death of a minor in Nadia district. The petition claimed that the accused is the son of a panchayat leader of the TMC. The petitioner's counsel Anindya Sunder Das said that the court of Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava has allowed an urgent hearing of the matter. According to media reports, the lawyer said that the case will probably be taken up before the court on Tuesday. Das said the CBI has been requested to conduct an inquiry into the matter as the accused is the son of a panchayat member of the TMC. So the ruling party can influence the case to save him.  

He said police reportedly came to know a week after the incident took place. In their complaint to the police, the girl's family members said that she had gone to the accused's birthday party on April 4 at his house, Hanskhali in Nadia district and was drugged before raping her. But in this whole episode, Mamata Banerjee's statement is going to hurt the soul of every woman, in which after the gang rape of a minor girl and her death, Mamata Didi says, "How will you know that the girl was raped?" Was she pregnant? Being the Chief Minister of a state and even more so, being a woman, this statement of Mamata didi is ridiculing the death of the minor and hurting the family members of the deceased, who were waiting for justice.
