Kolkata: Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has claimed that the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal will fall by December. Leader of Opposition in the state Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday (August 9) said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government will fall by December. Not only this, but he has also claimed that the assembly elections in the state will be held along with the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. After this statement of the officer, there has been a political stir in the state.

Though this is not the first time Adhikari is making such a claim, this time he has said that the TMC government will fall by December. He said, "Wait for a few months and Mamata Banerjee will not be in power in West Bengal till December this year." Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in 2024. However, after this claim, there has also been a reaction from the TMC.

Reacting to Adhikari's claim, TMC national spokesperson Sukhendu Sekhar said, "The BJP is spending crores of rupees to topple our government. But, soon there will come a day when the BJP will not be there.'' Adhikari's statement comes at a time when the Mamata government is under attack from opponents after the arrest of former minister Partha Chatterjee in the teachers' recruitment scam in West Bengal.
