Kolkata: In the wake of the controversy surrounding the death of Aliah University (AU) student Anis Khan, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that no one will be allowed to cause unrest in the state.

"No one will be allowed to cause a ruckus in the state. Those who obstruct the flow of traffic are breaking the law. I've instructed the police to take proper measures. You can't make fun of state police in the name of CBI "Banerjee, the Chief Minister, stated. She urged people not to be misled by rumours about the situation.

In connection with the killing of Aliah University student Anis Khan, the West Bengal Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) detained a Home Guard personnel and a civic volunteer from Amta, Howrah on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, West Bengal Police formed a three-member SIT to investigate the death of a student at Aliah University. CID's Additional Director General of Police, Gyanwant Singh, leads the team. The SIT must produce its report within 15 days, according to a state government decree. After demonstrations erupted over the death of Aliah University student Anis Khan, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed the formation of a SIT on Monday.
