West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee government has launched a one-of-a-kind scheme for Covid sufferers in the state. The government is sending patients a fruit box and a 'get well soon' letter from the chief minister. Approximately 10,000 fruit baskets have been manufactured thus far, and distribution of the parcels has begun throughout Kolkata.

The task of distributing the fruit baskets and the message has been assigned to councillors. They are going to the Covid sufferers' homes to deliver the gifts. Packages are dumped outside the house or building in units with a high infection rate, and occupants are informed over the phone.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Thursday that 2,075 Covid-19 patients have been admitted to hospitals so far. "There are 403 containment zones in West Bengal, with a positive rate of 23.17 percent, a death rate of 1.18 percent, and 19,517 beds available. For interstate border area movement, RT-PCR is required; the next 15 days are critical; we will strengthen restrictions and meet with PM Modi tomorrow "Mamata Banerjee said herself. On Wednesday, the state recorded 14,022 new cases and 17 Covid deaths.
