Mamata Banerjee congratulated TMC candidates for winning Bengal by-polls

Kolkata: The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has performed well in the by-elections to four assembly seats in West Bengal and has won two seats so far, while two other seats are leading by a huge margin. Meanwhile, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has congratulated the TMC candidates on the victory even before the results were declared in all the seats and attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee tweeted her congratulations on the victory of her candidates. He wrote, 'Heartiest congratulations on my behalf to the four winning candidates! This victory is a victory for the people because it shows how Bengal will always choose development and unity. With the blessings of the people, we promise that we will continue to take Bengal to greater heights.'

In West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress has won two of the by-elections to four seats, while two other seats are leading by a big lead. TMC candidate Udayan Guha has won the Dinhata assembly seat by more than 1.5 lakh votes, while Gosaba seat has also been won by the TMC.
