On Wednesday, a shocking incident took place in UP's Moradabad. A woman was set ablaze and pushed from the third floor of the residential building. The accuse in the incident was her husband himself who allegedly with the help of her in-laws set his wife on fire and threw her from the third floor.

The incident took place in the morning time in which the main accused has managed to run away. The couple got married in 2011, but they don't have any child. The police officials have lodged an FIR against seven persons.

According to the police officials, the deceased is a 32-year-old woman named Pushpa Kandpal was native from Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand. Inspector Vikas Saxena, station house officer of Majhola police station, said that in 2011, Pushpa Kandpal got married to Tribhuvan Kandpal who is a resident of Meerpur locality in Moradabad. During the investigation, police came to know that at the time of their marriage, Tribhuvan Kandpal had told that he was a teacher, while he was then jobless, reports TOI.

According to the woman’s brother, Basant Ballabh, he stated that her husband used to torture her for dowry. While her neighbors informed police and deceased family about the incident.

Her brother further said that soon after marriage, her in-laws started to torture her and often beat her up demanding money. Ad as the couple did not have a child, they blamed her for that. 

FIR has been lodged against the woman’s husband and six others under IPC sections 304B (dowry death) and 498A (cruelty by husband and in-laws).
