In the midst of the continuing controversies surrounding police encounters and firings in Assam, another suspect was injured after being shot by police in Biswanath district.

According to many sources, the person is suspected of poaching in Kaziranga's Kohora, and he was caught in Jonai in connection with recent rhino poaching in Kohora. The accused, Diluwar Hussain, was accused of being engaged in many poaching cases, according to the police.

On Saturday night, he promised to disclose a location where all the other poachers were hiding, but he tried to leave by breaking out of the police car, according to the police.  According to the police, despite warnings, he continued to flee, and when he did not had any options, he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound to his left leg.
