Man arrested by CISF for ‘threatening’ to blow up Kolkata-Mumbai Jet Airways plane

A man taking trip on a Jet Airways flight has been booked for allegedly threatening to blow up the flight. According to the leading news agency ANI, the man was talking on phone, wherein he threatened to blow up the airplane, which was slated to take off from Kolkata to Mumbai.

The accused has been recognized as J Poddar and he was detained by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

This shocking incident took place at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport in Kolkata. As the Jet Airways flight 9W0472 was all set to fly and take off at around 8.15 am, the suspect was heard saying on phone that he would take life all the passengers and blow up the aircraft.

As sources reported that, he was covering his face with a piece of cloth.

As a number of fellow passengers heard the discussion, they rushed to bring up to date the pilot and crew members, who then informed the Air Traffic Control about the subject.

After that the aircraft was turned towards the taxi bay and stationed at a secluded spot. All the passengers were asked to de-board the flight and careful check was held.

It is noted that CISF personnel were cross-examining the suspect till last reports came in.
