In a shocking incident, Ghaziabad police has arrested a man for murdering his wife and mother of his 3 children on Thursday. The accused had buried her body near a pond outside his village. The body was recovered late on Thursday night with the help of a JCB and sent for postmortem.
The incident took place on January 25 in Fazalgarh village in Ghaziabad's Bhojpur police station location.
The accused, identified as Dinesh Prajapati, is a vegetable vendor and had been married to the victim for about 13 years. Their 3 children are aged between 6 to 12 years.
On January 30, Dinesh registered a missing complaint of his wife and told the police that his wife, Anju had left home on January 26, when he had gone to the vegetable market. He then told his children that their mother had gone to her maternal home.
Then, he informed his children that their mother had left for her ancestral home.
The marriage had issues, which were revealed during the police investigation. Dinesh was subsequently detained by the police after confessing to strangling his wife during questioning.
On January 25, when he got up to go to the vegetable market at 4 a.m., he allegedly killed his wife and hid her body in another room because he thought she was having an affair.
Dinesh disclosed that he took the body outside the village next night while his kids were sound asleep on a tonga.
