In a strange incident, a woman from Karnataka’s Mysuru came in critical condition after sustaining multiple injuries on Sunday morning when a 26-year-old man allegedly stabbed her several times. Police said the incident happened after the victim rejected the marriage proposal of the accused, identified as Gagan alias Kencha.
According to the police, Gagan, a cab driver, is a Bellikatte Mission Road resident, while the woman stayed in Dewan’s Road within the limits of the Lakshmirpuram police. They were in love for the past three-four years. But, two weeks ago, the woman broke up with him and spurned his marriage proposal. Unhappy with this, he went to her house around 11:30 on Sunday and stabbed her with a dagger several times. Later, he went to the local police station and turned himself to the police.
“When Gagan put forth a marriage proposal, the victim and her family rejected it. Spurned by this, he attacked the girl at her home. He knocked on the door of her house and when she opened, he stabbed her. She sustained injuries on her chest, stomach, and back, according to the police report. The injured woman was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Currently, she is in a critical condition, the report added.
