On Wednesday, a staffer saved a 45-year-old man who attempted suicide inside the Tamil Nadu Assembly premises.
Murugan, who entered the Assembly as a journalist, poured fuel over his body and was ready to ignite a matchstick when an observant Marshal stopped his alleged suicide attempt, has been identified. He was apprehended by the cops immediately after the incident.
He was brought to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries. According to police sources, the cause for the suicide attempt is yet unknown.
