The local court in Odisha sentenced a man to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2014. The accused have been imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
He will have to undergo a jail term of another three months if he failed to pay the fine.
According to a prosecution, Sing, a resident of Kharidmukhura village, took an 8-year-old girl from his village to a nearby lonely place and raped her on January 30, 2014.
