New Delhi: A tragic incident occurred in North Delhi’s Burari area where a man named Sumit Khatri was beaten to death over a dispute related to a mobile phone. The police have arrested four suspects, including a 17-year-old minor, in connection with the murder. The police identified the suspects as Aman, Manav, Rudraksha, and the minor. The confrontation that led to Sumit’s death reportedly began when the accused, all of whom are drug addicts, attempted to recover a mobile phone from the victim. The situation escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in Sumit’s death.

According to police reports, the investigation involved analyzing CCTV footage and gathering local intelligence to track down the suspects and their whereabouts. The accused were found to be residents of Kaushik Enclave in Burari. Authorities have recovered a motorcycle, a scooter, and three mobile phones belonging to the suspects, along with the clothes they were wearing during the incident. The suspects have admitted to their involvement in the murder. Police revealed that the conflict over the phone originated when Manav’s Motorola mobile phone was taken by another drug addict, Dinesh. Dinesh borrowed the phone to make a call but did not return it. When Manav and the other suspects went to Dinesh’s residence to retrieve the phone, they were unsuccessful in finding him. Angered, the group demanded that Dinesh’s mother return the phone.

Dinesh then arranged for Sumit Khatri to hand over the phone to the accused at the Nathupura Bus Stand in Burari. Upon encountering Sumit with the phone, the suspects attacked him violently, leading to his death. The police continue their investigation into the case, and further details are awaited.
