Ranchi: In Jugigariya village, located in the Mufassil police station area of Pakur, Jharkhand, a tragic incident occurred where a young man was beaten to death under accusations of mobile theft. The victim, identified as Samiul Sheikh, a 22-year-old resident of Kulapahari village, was attacked late Monday night by local residents who accused him of stealing a mobile phone.

Despite attempts by some people to intervene and rescue Sheikh, the mob refused to stop the assault. As a result, Sheikh was beaten to death, and his body was subsequently dumped near a stone quarry to stage it as a suicide. On Tuesday morning, passersby who went to the area for defecation discovered the body and reported it to the authorities. Sheikh's family was alerted and they transported the body back to their home. They then informed the Mufassil police station about the incident.

The police, led by Mufassil police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar Jha, arrived at the scene, collected relevant information, and took custody of the body. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for a postmortem examination. The police have detained a suspect for questioning and are continuing their investigation into the case.
